Glass Lip Balm Pots

Little clear glass pots, whether for lip gloss or otherwise, are easy to fill with your own lip balm recipes. Most, because they are glass, can be set directly on a plate in the microwave if you’re doing easy homemade recipes. Making lip gloss this way is the fastest and you’ll have a balm that’s already in it’s package.

There’s another advantage to using glass lip balm pots. They make great decorative items. Here are some ideas for lip balm containers:

  • Old fashioned glass items can be placed atop a vanity to give your dressing table an antique feel.
  • You can create a lip balm display by placing them side by side on a shelf or stacking them in a pyramid shape.
  • Clear glass jars filled with a tinted lip balm recipe adds visual interest and makes the product enticing.
  • Frosted glass lip balm jars are perfect for lip treatment products. They hint at a cooling sensation.
  • If you’re going natural with a honey lip balm recipe, why not put it in a little jar and give it a country feel?

Empty Lip Balm Pots

There are two options for using empty lip balm pots. One is strictly for your own use and one is for offering your products to others. It’s important to remember this:

1. If you’re making products for yourself – you can recycle your small cosmetic jars. You can sterilize the glass by washing it and then dipping it in boiling water.

2. If you are making lip gloss or any type of lip treatment product to give or sell always use a new container. It’s the best way to keep the product pure.

How To Decorate Lip Balm Pots

These are so easy to decorate and here are a few ideas you might find useful. They’re easy to do, take only a few moments to make, and it gives your product that extra added appeal that’s so important:

  • Create a personalized lip balm using just a permanent Sharpie marker. Simply write the recipient’s name on the outside of the jar. It’s a really nice way to say you made it especially for them.
  • Did you make a rose lip balm or a pink lip balm product? If so glue a silk flower in the same color to the top of the jar. It’s simple if you use a hot glue gun and it only takes a second.
  • Sequins are perfect for adding visual interest. You can use them on the top of the jar or around the sides. You could even make a pattern with them. Hobby stores offer the crystals which already have adhesive on them.
  • If your glass lip balm jar contains a natural product – like a honey lip balm recipe – a few honey bee stickers on the jar will make it stand out. Or, you could even package it like the one shown in the photo above.

Lip balm pots are versatile creatures. They don’t disintegrate, they’re small and pretty and they’re even a little difficult to break. This means that you will not have to worry about any unforeseen mess or spill happening, unless the lid is taken off. You might just find that once you switch to glass you’ll prefer it for all your products.
